Terms of Service

Before using this site or submitting your intake form, please carefully review the following Terms of Service. By accessing and using this site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined below.

Divorce Wiz may update or revise these terms from time to time without notice. We recommend checking this page regularly to stay informed of any changes.

About Divorce Wiz

Divorce Wiz is a registered business in Alberta. However, Divorce Wiz is not a law firm, does not offer legal advice, and does not provide legal representation.

We are a document preparation service focused exclusively on uncontested divorces in Alberta. Our goal is to simplify and streamline the paperwork process for clients who meet the eligibility criteria for an uncontested divorce.

What We Do and Don’t Do

By using Divorce Wiz, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Divorce Wiz prepares court-ready divorce documents based solely on the information you provide through our intake form and questionnaire.

  • We do not interpret the law or advise you on how the law applies to your specific circumstances.

  • The information provided on this website is for general educational purposes only and should not be considered legal advice.

  • Divorce Wiz does not provide legal representation in court or during the divorce process.

  • If your divorce becomes contested or involves unresolved issues — such as parenting time, spousal or child support, or property division — Divorce Wiz cannot assist further, and you will need to retain the services of a qualified family lawyer.

Scope of Service

Divorce Wiz strictly assists with the preparation of documents for uncontested divorces in Alberta. An uncontested divorce means both parties agree on all issues and are willing to sign the required documents without dispute.

We do not assist with:

  • Contested divorces

  • Legal disputes or mediation

  • Enforcement of court orders

  • Legal advice or court representation

Payment Terms

All services must be paid for in full before document preparation begins. Payment is accepted by credit card or PayPal via our secure checkout.

Access to the secure client portal will be provided after payment is confirmed. From there, you will complete a detailed questionnaire and upload required supporting documents.

Service Timeline & Guarantee

We aim to prepare your documents within 7 business days after receiving your completed questionnaire and required documents, provided full payment has been received.

While we guarantee timely document preparation, we cannot guarantee court processing times, as they vary by courthouse and volume.

Important Conditions and Limitations

We do not guarantee that a divorce will be granted. Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:

  • The marriage lasted less than 6 months

  • The spouses still reside at the same address

  • Child support arrangements do not comply with the Federal Child Support Guidelines

  • Reported income is extremely low or unreported where dependent children are involved

  • Duplicate or existing divorce proceedings are discovered during your case

Cancellations

You may request a cancellation only if your document preparation has not yet started. If you need to cancel, please email us immediately at info@divorcewiz.ca.

Document Delivery

Completed documents will be delivered through your secure client portal in PDF format. If you require printed copies mailed to you, additional postage charges may apply.

If you have questions about these terms or your suitability for our services, please contact us before proceeding.
